Our Team
Wes Schlobohm
Wes Schlobohm is the founder and President of Official Auctions, Inc. As the Official Auctioneer for the City of Kansas City, Missouri for the last 20 years, Wes facilitates auctions for the Kansas City, Missouri Tow Lot with annual revenues north of $4,000,000.
Currently engaged in creating a real estate auction and development platform with KCMO to solve a longstanding vacant land and dilapidated structure problem and simultaneously address the shortage of workforce housing.
Taylor Kent
Taylor manages the monthly auto auction and the Kansas City Police Impound Lot. This includes overseeing on-site operations, resolving disputes, troubleshooting, training employees, and working with the Impound Lot staff to manage operations and resolve problems.
He is also an expert in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the auction process, the website, our internal data storage system, information security protocols, and training manuals.
Josh Atkinson
Joshua Atkinson is the founder of TRP Productions LLC, a photography and videography company serving the greater Kansas City Metropolitan area. His company exists to empower others to be authentic versions of themselves. Joshua has experience with portraits, events, and corporate photography, both indoors and outdoors.
Steve Cooney
Steve is originally a native of Chicago, Illinois and started working in the auction industry in June 2002 after owning a successful insurance adjusting company.
Previous employment included a successful and decorated military career through most of the 1970’s and 1980’s. After his military experience ended he worked for a large healthcare subrogation company where he rapidly advanced to a management position, in which he supervised and directed customer service activities for the company. His vast experience in the insurance industry led him to a successful tenure with a national adjusting company before finally opening his own firm in the mid 1990’s.
Steve’s military career took him to Korea, Japan, Europe and Honduras for several successful tours of duty, in addition to several stateside assignments including 4 years with the Presidential Honor Guard, and participated in honoring fallen veterans in Arlington National Cemetery as well as the surrounding communities in Virginia and Maryland, as well as special ceremonies in the Washington D.C. area.
Steve completed the three year process of Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) training, which is offered through the University of Indiana in conjunction with the National Auctioneers Association Education Institute. He has been awarded the designation of CAI which is considered the most prestigious designation offered to auctioneers. He is a licensed auctioneer in Kentucky, North Carolina and South Carolina. He also holds real estate licenses in Kentucky and North Carolina.
Steve currently serves as a Trustee at Faith Harbor United Methodist Church in Surf City, North Carolina and previously served as the Chairman of the Deconate at Westfield Baptist Church in Dunn, his former church. He also sits on a number of committees for the church.
Steve resides in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina with his wife Vicky who is a remote loan underwriter after having been a successful community banker for over 40 years. Steve’s recreational time is spent mainly at the beach in North Carolina or on the golf course; he is an avid golfer and sports fan. Steve and Vicky have one son, Steven II, who is a Chief Petty Officer currently serving in the United States Navy. Steve and Vicky have four grandsons – Landon, Collin, Cohen, and Grayson. They also have a very spoiled but beautiful yellow Lab “Pan”.
Madeleine Pare
Maddie Pare is an intern with OAI through Mizzou’s marketing internship program. She participated in the recent rebranding of the company, as well as marketing strategy meetings and daily operations. She is currently working on her bachelor’s degree from the university.
